Microsoft Xbox Series X no power issue

When a customer left their Microsoft Xbox Series X at my workshop, the console was completely unresponsive. According to them, it had suddenly stopped turning on and showed no signs of life—no startup sound, no light, nothing. They had already tried different power cables and outlets, but the issue remained.

I began with a basic visual inspection and found no external damage. The console was clean on the outside, so I proceeded to open it carefully for internal inspection. Inside, I checked the power supply unit first, since a total lack of power usually points in that direction. Using a multimeter, I tested the voltage rails and discovered that the power supply was not delivering the required output.

After further inspection, I identified a faulty component on the power supply board, likely caused by a power surge or prolonged use. I replaced the damaged part and rechecked all connections to ensure everything was secure. Before fully reassembling the console, I performed another voltage test, which confirmed that the power supply was now functioning correctly.

Once the Xbox Series X was reassembled, I connected it to a power source and pressed the power button. The console immediately turned on, the startup light illuminated, and the familiar Xbox boot screen appeared. I let the system run for an extended period to confirm stability and proper operation.

When the customer returned, I demonstrated the fully working console. The Xbox powered on without any issues, and the customer was relieved to see their system restored. The repair was successful, and the console was returned in fully working condition.
